With over 15 years of experience in financial services, Emma has worked extensively with regulators, policymakers, members, and partners to promote the adoption of best practices in digital assets. As Senior Managing Director of Financial Services at the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), she leads financial services initiatives and drives the association’s strategic growth in the EMEA region. Emma previously served as CEO of GBBC Digital Finance (GDF) and held key roles at Citi, Barclays, and Fidelity, where she led global marketing and strategic event initiatives. Dr. Francesco Pierangeli
Deputy Director, UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UK CBT)
Dr. Francesco Pierangeli is the UK CBT Deputy Director and an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Birmingham, where he leads the Blockchain and Financial Applications module in the MSc FinTech program. His research focuses on Game Theory, Economic Development, and Innovation in Financial Markets. Francesco is a research associate at UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies and heads the Scientific Community at the DLT Science Foundation. Richard is the Founding Chief Technology Officer at R3. For more than 10 years, Richard has led the development of R3’s Corda, an award-winning open, permissioned DLT platform powering the tokenization of assets and currencies connecting global markets. Richard is also a member of the Bank of England CBDC Technology Forum. Prior to R3, Richard was an Executive Architect for Industry Innovation and Business Development for IBM's Banking and Financial Markets business in the UK.
